I’ve wanted to write for as long as I can remember. The only time I wanted to do something more was when I aspired to be a librarian. I even wrote to a long-extinct wish fulfilment children’s TV programme asking if they could grant me this desire for the day. They didn’t. Looking back, I can see it might not have made the most gripping television for viewers but books and writing are my big passions. And music. And food. And travel. Okay, I have a lot of passions.
Having worked for many years in event management and sponsorship, interspersed with a blissful period at the also sadly defunct Ottakar’s, I am now fortunate enough to work as a freelance writer. It’s a varied job as on any given day I can be producing articles on subjects as random as ethical jewellery, trends in interior design, online gaming, the hottest Indonesian nightclubs, plumbing and electrical tips and even the heady world of man-caves. I specialise in SEO web content, copywriting and guest blogging but have written on a variety of topics and recently completed a commission to ghost-write a children’s fantasy series.
I also write short stories, one of which was shortlisted in an international writing competition, children’s fiction and am currently dabbling in poetry.
